The Royals will host Cashmere Technical in the women’s South Island league final at Forsyth Barr Stadium on Sunday.
The Royals beat Nelson Suburbs 5-0 and Cashmere beat Coastal Spirit 4-2 to make the final.
They met in last year’s South Island final, when Cashmere prevailed, and have had some torrid battles this season.
They drew 1-1 in their last league game on July 28, but the Royals won 1-0 in their Kate Sheppard Cup quarterfinal clash earlier in July.
The teams match up well against each other and have goal threats in Rose Morton (Royals) and Anna McPhie and Football Fern Annalie Longo (Cashmere), who have each scored six goals this season.
The Royals men’s team are at home at Tahuna Park against Nelson Suburbs in their penultimate Southern League game.
In the last full round of the ODT Southern Men’s Premiership tomorrow, champions Mosgiel are home to Queenstown, Roslyn-Wakari play the Royals, Wanaka host Green Island, and University face Northern Hearts.
Northern and Queens Park will meet at Forsyth Barr Stadium on Sunday, after the Royals women’s game.
Roslyn and Northern will play each other in the women’s southern premiership.
