Fans only have to wait a few more days to see which African team will join Mexico, Uruguay and Serbia in Dunedin for the Fifa under-20 World Cup in May and June.
As under-20 African championships semifinalists, Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal and Mali have all qualified for the World Cup in New Zealand.
Whichever team loses the final in Senegal on Sunday will be pitted in pool D in May and June, and will play two of its three pool games at the renamed Otago Stadium.
Mali was the form side in the group stage of the African championships, winning all three games against South Africa, Ghana and Zambia to finish top of group B.
Nigeria topped group A with wins against Congo and Senegal, before drawing 2-2 with Ivory Coast in its final match.
Nigeria and Ghana play in today's semifinal, while Mali and Senegal will battle it out for the other spot in the final tomorrow.
The other 20 teams to qualify for the World Cup were drawn into pools last month. New Zealand benefited from a favourable draw to be pitted in pool A with Ukraine, Myanmar and the United States.
Dunedin will host six group matches and a round-of-16 playoff match.
New Zealand kicks off the tournament against Ukraine in Auckland on May 30.
