Caversham flew to the top of the Footballsouth Premier League, two points ahead of Technical, and now with a superior goal difference of 12 goals.
Roslyn damaged Technical's championship ambitions with a rip-roaring performance at Ellis Park, which kick-started with an early eighth minute lead.
James Govan carved in from the right and delivered a low cross that Sam Mepham drilled past Technical's keeper Michael Walker. Roslyn kept the foot down with a Mike Sannum shot, and a superb twisting header by James Watson that rebounded off Technical's crossbar.
But coach Mike Fridge's team showed resilience to climb back into the game, and who else but the FPL's top scorer, Aaron Burgess, made equalising look easy.
In the 28th minute, Roslyn failed to clear a corner, and master marksman Burgess rammed a close-range snapshot past Peter Evans in the Roslyn goal.
Both sides upped the tempo and Frenchman Victor da Costa and Roslyn's Damian Foster battled in midfield as winning second-phase ball became critical.
Then, just as thoughts were turning to half-time team talks, Technical king-hit Roslyn with two goals in two minutes.
Again, Burgess found space where there should have been none, and rifled in a superb goal.
Shellshocked, Roslyn failed to clear a corner and Alistair Rickerby made it 3-1 at the break.
In contrast to the stentorian shouting of coach Fridge, Roslyn's almost placid Colin Thom made his point at the break and was rewarded soon afterwards.
The hard-working Govan exposed Technical's backline and shot Roslyn back into the match, then celebrated with a gravity-defeating leap into a crowd of team-mates.
Both sides had chances to clinch the match. Burgess headed a good chance wide, then Sannum shot, and Aajay Cunningham let rip.
But from a foul on Mepham, and a freekick by Connor, it was Govan who ignited the home crowd with a well-taken equaliser, to retain the venerable old Massetti Rosebowl trophy.
At Tonga Park, Caversham coach Richard Murray said of the 5-0 win: "It was our most complete performance of the season. We were clinical at the back, incisive in the midfield and devastating on attack."
Anton Ross and Harley Rodeka gave the student defence nightmares and Rodeka duly obliged, finishing off a great cross from the left to open the scoring.
Matt Bruin then scored direct from a corner.
The third came just before halftime when Ant Hancock scuffed his first attempt then used his great tight control to beat three defenders and neatly finish.
In the second half, Tom Jackson added the fourth through a typically clinical finish.
The fifth and final goal was all quality.
Jackson created space on the left and turned back towards his own goal and whipped in a cracker of a cross with his right foot for the intuitive Hancock to flick in.
Caversham man of the match was Jude Fitzpatrick who, along with Seamus Ryder and Andy Ridden, set standards for the whole team.
At Memorial Park, Mosgiel returned to winning FPL form to beat Queenstown 2-1, and in another tight match, Northern drew 2-2 with Grants Braes at the Caledonian Ground.
