Former All White and Dunedin City player Steve Wooddin was guest speaker at the function and congratulated Brand and southern football on having had a successful winter season.
Combative young Scotsman Brand showed his versatility for Roslyn-Wakari in its chase for the South Island championship this year, and coach Terry Boylan heartily agreed with the award.
"Young Sean has played in any position I asked him, and always made a good fist of it. His winning attitude switches the team on and, even when injured, he battled on for the team cause."
Born in Fife, of tough mining stock, Brand is reminiscent of former All White Grant Turner, and his 10 goals for Roslyn were an important ingredient in the club's success this season.
Steve Fleming won the coach of the year award by guiding Caversham to yet another Soccersouth premier league title.
Caversham's young striker, Tom Jackson, shared the Golden Boot award with Technical's Aaron Burgess.
Both scored 19 goals, followed by Ross McKenzie (12), Carson Gorecki (11), Tim Cook, Sean Brand, Regan Coldicott and Phil Kelly (all 10).
Jackson was also named young player of the year, while his female equivalent was Briony Barclay, a vital cog in the championship-winning Roslyn-Wakari team.
Sportswoman of the Year was goalkeeper Rebekah Brook, whose skills were honed in a recent spell with English professional club Sunderland.
Brook has since been selected for the New Zealand team that will compete in Fifa's under-20 competition in Chile at the end of the year.
Personality of the year was referee Chris Boyd, Jeff Clamp was voted referee of the year, Callum Alexander assistant referee of the year and Gary McNicol was most promising referee.
Female personality of the year was Caversham administrator Louise Williams, who had a hand in most of that club's policy decisions while serving as secretary and club delegate.
