A leading British bookmaker has reported strong support for the All Whites to reach the last-16 at the soccer World Cup.
William Hill said in a statement it had received "several four-figure wagers" on New Zealand to qualify from group F at odds of $6.50.
A win over Paraguay early tomorrow (NZT) would guarantee the All Whites a second round spot but they could still qualify with a draw, depending on the result between Italy and Slovakia.
Williams Hill rated the All Whites $8 to beat Paraguay who were dominant $1.44 favourites. The draw was paying $4.00. The New Zealand TAB had the All Whites at $7, Paraguay at $1.45 and the draw at $4 today.
"The All Whites have shown that they're not out of their depth at world level," said williamhill.com spokesman Tony Kenny.
"Punters across the globe seem to believe they have a great chance of making history by qualifying for the last-16."
Paraguay ($1.05) and Italy ($1.11) remained warm favourites to qualify from group F.
