The 24-year-old has been named in the initial 15-man squad.
Georgeson has spent the last four seasons with the Firebirds and will give the Volts an all-rounder option with his right-arm pace bowling and top-order left-hand batting.
"Becoming an Otago Volt is exciting," Georgeson said in a press release.
"Otago is a team that I have had good battles with over the last few years. They have a great coaching team and great senior players in the group, who I am looking forward to learning from."
Georgeson joins batter Thorn Parkes in picking up their first Volts’ domestic contracts.
Parkes had several outstanding performances throughout 2022 and 2023 to provide the Volts with strong options in the batting lineup.
Coach Dion Ebrahim has highlighted his young, experienced squad to challenge for next season.
"I am excited about the squad we have put together and building on the platform we had last season," Ebrahim said.
"The balance and depth of our squad is improving, and we are excited about what we can deliver this season."
Ebrahim is also excited about the signing of Georgeson and what he can add to the Volts.
"Luke brings versatility, he can bat one to six and gives us another seam option. He is dynamic in the field and an outstanding individual."
Otago Cricket Association general manager of performance Steve Martin said he was delighted with the calibre of the contracted players.
"The squad named will be able to build on the strong foundation laid last season. The addition of Parkes and Georgeson strengthens this year's squad," Martin said.
The Volts will also welcome back explosive Black Caps batter Glenn Phillips who received a New Zealand Cricket central contract last month and returns for his second season with the team.
The final round of domestic contracting, which will feature all 16 domestic contracted players, will be released on 20th July.
