You have to scroll down the list a further couple of places before you get to left-arm spinner Ben Lockrose.
He is in 12th spot with nine wickets at 28.67.
But, collectively, the Volts’ bowling unit has been much better than the individual parts.
In the past two games, they have rescued very unlikely victories from the firm squeeze of more certain defeats.
Andrew Hazeldine emerged as a saviour. He nabbed his maiden list A five-wicket bag against Central Districts in Dunedin earlier this month to help seal a 65-run win and keep the Volts’ playoff prospects alive.
He then teamed up with Jacob Duffy to put on 79 for the 10th wicket to help set up a tense 15-run win over Wellington at the Basin Reserve on Saturday.
Luke Georgeson picked up his maiden list A five-wicket haul in that game. He capitalised on some of the pressure Duffy and Matt Bacon were able to apply.
Otago did not look in a good spot in either of those games. They had limped to modest totals in both fixtures.
But, in battling back from the brink, the Volts have given themselves the opportunity to sneak into the playoffs.
There are two rounds remaining and only the top three teams progress.
The Volts (17 points, fourth place) host competition front-runners Northern Districts (22) in Queenstown today, and will return to the Sir John Davies Oval on Sunday to play Wellington (13, sixth).
In the other fixtures today, Canterbury (19, second) will host defending champions Central Districts (17, third) at Hagley Oval, and Wellington will play Auckland (16, fifth) at the Basin Reserve.
A loss for Wellington will mean the Firebirds drop out of the hunt, while a loss for Auckland will leave the Aces in a vulnerable spot.
Otago might be able to get away with one win from their remaining two games to make the elimination final.
But the Volts’ first task will be to find some form with the bat.
Thorn Parkes has led the way with 251 runs at a very healthy average of 50.20. His strike rate of 69.72 could do with a bump, but he has often been left trying to rebuild the innings.
Dale Phillips started the campaign strongly with a century, and his knock of 57 was critical in the win over Wellington. But he has been inconsistent and part of an under-performing top six.
Captain Dean Foxcroft (132 runs at 22) is labouring for runs and both openers, Georgeson (78 runs at 13) and Jacob Cumming (30 runs at 10), are nursing averages they would rather forget.
Llew Johnson (122 at 20.33) is hit and mostly miss.
Hazeldine might be due a promotion in the order following his rapid undefeated knock of 54 at No10. He could be useful as a pinch-hitter, perhaps.
