Taieri has been crowned one-day champion in the Dunedin premier competition.
In a low-scoring affair, Taieri beat the North East Valley Swans by 12 runs to claim the title at Logan Park on Saturday.
Taieri, which had topped the table at the end of regular play, elected to bat, wanting to put the pressure on the Swans early.
But Taieri would have felt it came up short as it slumped to 89 all out in the 32nd over.
Captain and opener Cameron Jackson top-scored with 32 runs, while Toby Hart (14), at the tail end of the order, made the only other notable contribution.
Swans bowler Kyle Hastie took three for 16 in his seven overs, while Oli White, Jeremy Smith and Jarrod McKay all took two apiece.
The Swans were in a good position to take the game — until they, too, struggled with the bat.
Hastie’s 21 not out and White’s 17 were the only sizeable contributions to the Swans tally, leaving them to limp to 78 all out in 18 overs.
Taieri’s Regan Flaws ripped through the Swans batting order, taking four for 28 in his six-over spell.
Hart and Ben McCall nabbed two wickets each to give Taieri a well-deserved victory.
