Neesham injured picking up gloves

Otago and Black Cap all-rounder Jimmy Neesham was all set to play in today's one-dayer against Wellington at the University Oval but is sitting the game out with a back complaint.

The 27-year-old was heading out for some batting practise before the match. He reached down to pick up his gloves and suffered a back spasm.

The spasm was short-lived but his back is stiff and the team felt it was prudent to rest Neesham. He is hoping to play in Sunday's one-dayer against Central Districts in New Plymouth.
