Dunedin games mostly a damp squib

Rained wiped out most of the games during the opening weekend of the Dunedin premier grade twenty20 tournament.

There was enough time for a result to be posted in two of the three early games.

But all three afternoon games were abandoned without a ball bowled.

Albion reached 150 for eight from 20 overs against University-Grange at Tonga Park. Josh Cuttance top scored with 36 not out.

University-Grange was 26 for four after six overs when the game was called off and lost on Duckworth-Lewis-Stern.

The scorecard for the Taieri game against Carisbrook-Dunedin/Kaikorai was unable to be provided. But Taieri recorded a win courtesy of Duckworth-Lewis-Stern.

North East Valley was bowled out for 80 by Green Island at Sunnyvale. Green Island was 32 for none after three overs when the game was called off.
