Three teams remain in the hunt for the Bing Harris Trophy going into the final round of senior club cricket today.

Defending champion Green Island has made a late run to lead with 54 points, two points clear of University-Grange.

Carisbrook-Dunedin is in third place with 49 points and will need other results to go its way to snatch the banner.

With six points for a win and three for a draw, Green Island is in the box seat.

The Swamp Foxes have a winnable match at home at Sunnyvale against lowly Pelichet Bay, which trails the field with 18 points.

Former Otago batsman Jordan Sheed scored 100 against Kaikorai last week and all-rounder Mark Joyce is another key player in a talented Green Island line-up.

University-Grange plays Albion at Logan Park and will be keeping a close eye on the proceedings at Sunnyvale. If Green Island loses or draws, it will open the door for Grange.

Carisbrook-Dunedin has the hardest road.

It needs to win its match against Kaikorai at Bishopscourt and keep its fingers crossed that Green Island loses and Grange either loses or can manage only a draw.
