He has caused vigorous debate on both sides of the Tasman in recent days and now Brendon McCullum is ready to tell his side of the story.

In an exclusive column for the Otago Daily Times, McCullum will tomorrow explain his controversial appearance for New South Wales at the weekend.

The classy wicketkeeper-batsman played for the Blues in the Australian twenty/20 final, scoring just 10 but celebrating victory with his new team.

The real carrot for McCullum is the inaugural Champions League in India in October, where he will be in line for a huge payday if New South Wales wins.

He may yet have to decide who to play for, with his Indian Premier League side (Kolkata) and even Otago potential participants.

His hasty switch to New South Wales was met with mixed reactions, with some maintaining there was nothing to complain about, while others felt there was something inherently wrong with a New Zealander joining an Australian team just for a final.

Look out for McCullum's column in tomorrow's Otago Daily Times.
