Dunedin Metro held on to beat Pelichet Bay by one run in a thrilling Districts Series one-day final in Oamaru on Sunday.
Chasing a target of 263, Pelichet Bay needed 11 runs from the last over to claim the title and looked on track when Otago fast bowler James McMillan flicked Neil Wagner's second delivery over square leg for six.
With the equation back in favour of the batsmen, Wagner struck back by restricting McMillan to a single from the next ball.
Craig Smith swung and missed at the next delivery and got a single from the penultimate ball leaving McMillan needing two runs to win.
Wagner fizzed the ball through to the wicketkeeper to close the match out.
Earlier, Sean Eathorne scored 60 to help Dunedin Metro reach 262.
He had good support from Sam Wells (37) and Wagner (31).
James Fuller took four for 41 from 10 overs for Pelichet Bay and McMillan two for 39 from eight overs.
Shaun Haig got the chase off to a good start getting through to 61, and Simon Butler top-scored with 62.
PJ Cairns chipped in with 35 and Smith was undefeated on 32.
Anthony Bullick took two for 27 off eight overs and Wagner two for 53 off 10 overs.
