Wellington made short work of the Sparks' paltry total of 120 and the nine-wicket win put a damper on the celebrations.
The 27-year-old's performance was also pretty forgettable.
She was dismissed for seven and bowled five overs without success.
But Kane was rapt to have reached what is a significant milestone.
"I'm pleased to have made it. When you look back and count the years it is hard to believe I've been around for that long," she said from Alexandra yesterday.
"It wasn't our best day . . . but 100 games is a 100 games and I'm pretty stoked with that," she added when asked about the result.
The right-hander made her debut for Otago in the summer of 1998-99 and is in her 12th season with the Sparks.
While not as talented as the Sparks' White Ferns trio of Katey Martin, Sarah Tsukigawa and Suzie Bates, the right-hander has played some useful knocks, including three half-centuries.
In her career she has scored 1075 runs at an average of 12.21, and taken 32 wickets at a shade over 36.
Her highlight was a half-century she scored against Central Districts in 2002-03, opening the batting with Clare Taylor.
"We were chasing about 130 and we got there with no wickets down. That was probably my favourite innings."
Kane and Taylor made 65 apiece in the 10-wicket win.
But the day belonged to Wellington all-rounder Lucy Doolan.
The right-arm spinner ripped through the Otago lower middle order and captured the key wicket of Tsukigawa.
Not satisfied with four for 18 she blasted a superb half century to secure Wellington a bonus-point win.
Her innings of 62 from just 69 deliveries featured six fours and a six.
She shared in an opening stand of 109 with Sarah Bradbury but holed out with victory in sight when she offered a catch off the bowling of Victoria Abbot.
Taylor top-scored for Otago with 21 in what was a dismal effort.
Katey Martin has been in terrific from with four half centuries but went cheaply, Suzie Bates was trapped in front for seven and the reliable Tsukigawa bowled for 17.
The sides play a twenty/20 fixture at Molyneux Park today.
