Bracewell has left for England after being selected by New Zealand Cricket to join the Young Cricketers at Lord's programme.
The talented wicketkeeper-batsman will train at the famous ground and play in the English county second XI championship, as well as other MCC and invitation fixtures.
The list of previous Young Cricketers at Lord's is an impressive one and includes New Zealand great Martin Crowe and present Black Caps batsman Ross Taylor.
Former England all-rounder Ian Botham and former Australian opening batsman Mark Waugh also spent a year at Lord's.
Bracewell (18), the deputy head boy at Kavanagh College last year, was selected by the national selection panel.
Bracewell has been playing senior cricket in Dunedin for University-Grange since he was 15, and was New Zealand's youngest player at last year's Under-19 World Cup in Malaysia.
Bracewell opened the batting for New Zealand Under-19 in the one-day international series against England in England last August.
He was New Zealand's leading batsman with 160 runs at an average of 40, and a top score of 62 in the final match which New Zealand won to square the series.
He had intended studying at the University of Otago this year but has put those plans on hold to pursue the adventure of a lifetime.
He returns home in late September.
