The Magic had a 93-68 win over a depleted City Rise Bombers side in the men's premier competition at the weekend.

The Bombers were without former Otago Nuggets Stu Carruthers and Chris Hepburn and had to adapt their game plan.

Hepburn, in particular, has been strong in the paint for the Bombers this season and his absence was felt.

Bombers captain Steve Robinson did his best by scoring 20 of his side's points but the Magic found its range from the outside with Josh Kitson, Hayden Miller and Sam To'omata landing eight three pointers among them.

Kitson scored a game-high 24 points with To'omata adding 20 and Miller 19.

The St Kilda Saints beat the Andy Bay Falcons 89-75.

The Falcons competed well for the majority of the game but a poor second quarter cost the side dearly.

The Falcons' offence fell apart as they scored just nine points in the period.

Better ball movement enabled the Falcons to close to within 10 points on two occasions in the second half but the Saints were always in control and deserved their 14-point win.

Matt Gillan top-scored for the Saints with 27 points and Dan Peck amassed 29 points for the Falcons.

In the other match, Otago Boys High School beat the winless Varsity Blaze 77-54.

Ethan Carruthers top-scored with 31 points for OBHS and Elton Cotton added 18 for Varsity.

In the zone 4 under-13 premierships at the Edgar Centre this weekend, Mid Canterbury emerged victorious in the boys' competition with Canterbury winning the girls' tournament.
