The Breakers will be saluted in a lunchtime parade along Auckland's Queen St today after their historic Australian National Basketball League title victory.
The Breakers will travel in open trucks from Britomart at the bottom of Queen St at midday to Aotea Square where they will be greeted by Auckland Mayor Len Brown.
The council said there would be an opportunity for fans to get up close to their favourite players, get autographs and shoot some hoops.
A week ago the Breakers became the first New Zealand team in any sports code to win a title in a professional Australian sports league when they beat the Cairns Taipans, 71-53, at the North Shore Events Centre, to take the best of three final.
At their awards dinner on the North Shore last night, CJ Bruton won the clubman of the year title for overall contribution to the Breakers, while Kirk Penney was voted player of the season.
