Ajax has well and truly installed itself as the favourite for the Dunedin women's club basketball title.
It beat second-placed South Pacific Magic, 82-60, on Tuesday night.
The win was its seventh of the season, its one loss coming from a default early the year.
Ajax blew the game open in the second and third quarters.
After trailing 18-16 at the end of the first, it won the next two quarters 24-14 and 27-15 to take the game away from the Magic.
Nicole Ruske had a game-high 25 points, managing eight in both key quarters, while sister Aleisha had 13.
Soraya Umaga-Jensen had 21 points for the Magic, while Kirsty Currie had 12, including nine in the first quarter.
The Andy Bay Falcons beat a depleted Varsity team, 64-49.
Having won its first game by default last week, it was the Falcons' first on-court win of the season.
They led by one at the end of the first quarter, extending that to 28-22 at halftime.
The Falcons opened up the margin in a big third quarter.
Zoe Richards scored 10 points in that period, while Gea Gabriella and Jodie Hope both hit three-pointers to make it 48-34.
The Falcons extended that margin by one in the final quarter.
Richards led the Falcons in scoring with 18 points, while twin sister Brittany got 17.
Hope and Gabriella chipped in with nine and eight respectively.
Meanwhile, Varsity leaned on Tara Clement for its scoring, as she poured in 25 points.
That included four three-pointers and all of the team's second-quarter points.
Grace Love was the only other player to reach double-digits, with 11.
The competition now takes a break, before resuming on July 11.
