Runners hit the road

The field takes off from the start line of the junior girls grade at the Otago secondary schools Logan Park road race hosted at the Caledonian Ground yesterday.

It was the first of four races in this year's OSSSA cross-country series.

Otago Boys' High School was the big winner of the day, claiming first in both senior and junior boys races.

Joshua Potter completed the 5km course ahead of King's High School's George Bates and Exekiel Stewart. George Hamilton was too fast over the 2.5km course in the junior race, beating Brayden Scott and Jake Owen.

In the girls' races - both 2.5km - Taieri College's Laura Bungard beat Rebekah Hill and Megan Foster to win the senior title.

Logan Park High School's Viviane Dalphin won the junior race ahead of Billie Crowe and Gabby Kakahi.
