Otago para athlete Richard Nelson-Parker won three bronze medals at the Oceania Area Championships in Cairns at the weekend.
The 21-year-old finished third in the men's para 100m and 200m and the men's para long jump.
Nelson-Parker, the only Otago athlete competing in the championships, crossed the line in 14.03sec in the 100m and 28.75sec in the 200m.
His 4.51m leap was good enough for bronze in the long jump.
Former Otago discus thrower and national champion Marshall Hall was also competing in Cairns. He finished second behind Samoa's American-based Alexander Rose.
Hall managed a best throw of 59.87m but could not better Rose, who won with a 60.95m toss.
In total, New Zealand athletes won 19 gold, 23 silver and 19 bronze medals.
