Who is better — a double Paralympic champion or a world record-holder?
Well, you can decide.
This year’s ASB Otago Sports Awards are holding a vote for the Otago athlete of the decade, featuring seven winners of the award from the past decade.
It is a prime collection of Otago talent and you will be hard-pressed to pick a winner.
Up for the title of athlete of the decade are rower Hamish Bond, snowsports competitor Zoi Sadowski-Synnott, rugby player Ben Smith, para skier Adam Hall, cricketers Suzie Bates and Brendon McCullum and cyclist Alison Shanks.
The award will be decided by public vote via the Otago Daily Times website, www.odt.co.nz. The vote closes on June 3. The winner will be revealed on June 6 when the supreme award for the 2020 awards is announced.
