Youths arrested after robbery

Two youths have been taken into custody by police following an aggravated robbery in Invercargill.

Police were alerted to four people entering a store in North Rd about 3.30am on Monday.

The group targeted tobacco products before fleeing in a vehicle.

After following multiple lines of inquiry, police yesterday executed search warrants at two Invercargill properties, resulting in two arrests.

The two youths are due to appear in the Youth Court today, charged with aggravated robbery.

Police continue to make inquiries into the incident and further arrests are likely. — APL
