Last Tuesday the Gore District welcomed its 48th Justice of the Peace at a swearing-in ceremony at the Gore District Court.

Katherine Bratschi was sworn in, having completed her training, and now joins her peers to help support those in the community as a JP.

Mrs Bratschi said it was a great privilege to be able to serve and help those around her.

"I think Gore is a great community.

"I’ve been involved in a lot around the community, sports groups, local groups, and I just think it’s great to be involved," she said.

Mrs Bratschi said she was confident in her ability to serve as a JP.

"I’ve done some training, as to become a JP you do need training, and I feel like I’ve got a lot of support from the other Justices around the district.

"So I feel very confident," she said.

Mrs Bratschi said once again, Gore was the place to be, and was excited to begin her journey as a Justice of the Peace.

"I think it’s a great community to be a part of.

"We’re very lucky down here.

"Lots of people get involved, do a lot of different things, so it’s great to be a part of it," she said.
