Croyden Aviation Heritage Centre member Julie Blackler said the Suzanne Emslie exhibition was a nice change of pace.
"It’s from Dunedin, and it’s called ‘A Little Hippie’. Paintings, mixed media and photography seem to be the main ones we get, so it’s really exciting to have something like this here for a change," she said.
Mrs Blackler said the sculptures, which were of women with abstract proportions and no faces, were available to buy.
Mrs Blackler said this gave it something special.
"Instead of having her facial features, there’s none which I think is also good too because it doesn’t detract from the artwork itself."
Mrs Blackler said fostering creativity was a major goal for the centre.
"There’s so many creative people out there, and I think it’s important for them to be seen and valued as much as sports."
