There has been a slip on the Blackmount road on the Manapōuri side of the Blackmount Hill.
The Southland District Council said yesterday as a result the Blackmount road would be closed at 8am today.
Contractors would investigate the magnitude of the slip, and what repairs were required.
It was hoped the road would only be closed for a day at this stage.
There would be residents’ access only.
