Hillside Primary School pupils (from left) Rianne Timpac, Stephanie Timpac and Almeida Vidal Bruno show off their project Colourful Card Chaos as part the Southland Science Fair.

The fair had an impressive turnout at this year’s event.

There were more than 222 entries from pupils across the region.

Secretary Bronnie Jeynes said the pupils had done an awesome job and were passionate about getting to show and explain their work.

The fair was supported by several organisations, many of which had sent staff to assist with judging the entries.

New Zealand Aluminium Smelters was the main supporter.

The winners will be announced at 5pm tomorrow after judging is complete
