Irish national Ceara Dennison and New Zealand’s Guy Barnsdale welcomed their firstborn son Myles Padraig last week.
While they were enjoying the first couple days of parenthood, they were looking forward and excited to watch the Rugby World Cup’s quarterfinal match between All Blacks and Ireland together as a family.
They believed this day would be one to remember.
"I’m obviously Ireland — always — first, All Blacks second," Ms Dennison said.
"Currently he [Myles] will be supporting the All Blacks as I wasn’t prepared, I didn’t get him his little green onesie.
"But apparently there’s one in the post — so hopefully by the final we’ll have it, just in time for Ireland to be in the final."
Her husband was happy to share such an important moment with his first son as rugby had always been part of his life.
"Obviously, whatever happens with that game, there’ll be either history for Ireland or New Zealand so it will be pretty cool for him to be born around that time and will be a memory for me."
While both would support their own country, they felt it would be a special day for the family in general.

Both know that waking up early to watch the match will not be a problem as this had been the routine for the last couple of days.
"We will probably be up for the other games, the earlier ones,"Mr Barnsdale said.
Both parents said they hoped their child would be happy and follow whatever passion he wanted.
However, they confessed they would be pleased if this pathway led him to the rugby field.
The All Blacks will face Ireland tomorrow with kick-off at 8am.
