Awards committee chairman Eddie Fitzgerald said the organising committee was preparing to formally honour New Zealand families for the significant achievement of farming their land for 100 years or more.
"It is a real honour to acknowledge the families’ hard work and perseverance," he said.
Award recipients from across New Zealand would arrive in Lawrence to join in the celebrations between May 16 and 18.
Families attend a welcome function on the Friday night and about 250 people were expected to attend an awards ceremony on the Saturday evening.
A town and farm tour would be held on the Saturday.
This year, three awards would be given to families who had farmed their land for more than 150 years.
Applications for the 2025 year close on November 30.
Any families who have owned and farmed their land since 1925 or earlier were encouraged to apply, Mr Fitzgerald said.
