It’s not the ironing and it’s not the jet-boat driving; it is usually the public speaking that causes competitors in "The Perfect Woman" the most angst.
The event’s founder Stew Burt, of Wanaka, has created many of the competition’s challenges over the years — from skinning possums to wielding a chainsaw.
Pictured perfecting her microphone skills is competitor and breast cancer survivor Sonia Adams, of Wanaka.
Ms Adams said she was "stoked to be able to have some fun" in the event while also helping raise funds for the Canlive Charitable Trust, which helps educate cancer patients and their supporters on what they can do to help themselves while living with cancer.
This year’s event begins at the Luggate Hotel this morning and results are due by tomorrow night.
