The talk, which was one of a series Mr Rewi is holding at libraries across the Queenstown Lakes District, focused on the document’s relevance today, and the impact felt in the region.
Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC) Community engagement librarian Paula Mitchell said Mr Rewi’s talks had proven to be immensely popular, and the Wānaka event had attracted about 58 people.
She said there were more library talks to come, including a presentation from master carver Steve Solomon in Wānaka on March 20.
The library will also host an exhibition of Mr Solomon’s work in the week leading up to the talk.
Those interested can get in touch with the library on 03 443 0510 or wanaka.library@qldc.govt.nz.
Mr Rewi’s next talk will take place at Frankton Library on February 29.
