The bar, officially known as the Speight's ''& Bar'', is being set up out the back of the Luggate Hotel, near Wanaka.
Made up of two 12m shipping containers and designed in the style of the Cardrona Hotel, the bar has been in use at Forsyth Barr Stadium for the last couple of years.
However, Luggate Hotel owner Rod Bowler told the Otago Daily Times yesterday consent issues at the stadium led to the bar becoming available for use at Luggate.
''It's a really cool bar when it's set up,'' Mr Bowler said.
It would continue to be owned by Speight's but would provide valuable space for the hotel during weddings and other functions.
The bar contains Speight's memorabilia, and Mr Bowler planned to add items of interest from Luggate's history.
The bar was constructed in 2007 as a promotion for Speight's.
It sailed to London on a cargo ship with a bar crew of six,
and was installed at Canary Wharf just hours after the All Blacks lost their quarterfinal match to France.
On its return to New Zealand, it spent time at Auckland's Eden Park.
The first half of the bar was installed in pouring rain at Luggate yesterday and the second half is due to arrive today.
Mr Bowler and his partner Jana Burgess plan an opening function in a few months.
