The fast-food franchise announced earlier this year it would be opening a store in Ardmore St.
Plans for the store's signs have been approved by the Queenstown Lakes District Council.
A Domino's New Zealand spokesman told the Otago Daily Times the company wanted the design of the store to match the character of the surrounding buildings.
Domino's hopes to open the store before the winter season begins in June.
It will be run by Queenstown Domino's franchisee Brett Moore.
Opposition from some Wanaka residents to international fast-food franchises setting up in the town has been well publicised.
There has been no public opposition to the Domino's announcement.
Last year, a group called Ban International Fast Food Franchises from Wanaka started a petition asking for international fast-food franchises to be banned from the town.
Part of the Wanaka 2020 document developed by the community in 2002, included a section about not allowing international fast-food franchises to set up in town.
Even the faintest possibility a fast-food giant could be setting up in the town is enough to ruffle some residents.
Last month, some residents became concerned after a potential site for a McDonald's restaurant appeared on internet mapping service Google Maps. It was later revealed the locations had been marked by Mt Aspiring College pupils as part of a school project.
