Chance to scrutinise local body election candidates

Upper Clutha voters will get a chance to scrutinise candidates standing in the local body elections at two meet-the-candidates meetings in two days.

From 4pm today, in the Lake Wanaka Centre, voters will have a chance to hear from and ask questions of the candidates standing for the Queenstown Lakes District Council,  Wanaka Community Board and the mayor.

Local issues will be the topic of the meeting, which will also allow candidates to talk to and hear from the Wanaka business community.

Candidates for council and the community board will make their case to Lake Hawea and Hawea Flat residents in the Lake Hawea Community Centre from 10am tomorrow.

Residents are asked come with questions for the candidates and the Hawea Community Association will provide the tea and scones.
