A young woman was airlifted to hospital after crashing her van into a paddock near Pukerau on Thursday morning.
A police spokesman said emergency services were called about 10am to the scene of the crash on State Highway 1 between Gore and Waipahi, where a van driven by the woman, the sole occupant, had crashed into a paddock.
She was "conscious and breathing" when police arrived but no further details were available on her condition.
St John spokesman Gerard Campbell said the woman, in her 20s, was airlifted to Dunedin Hospital, departing the scene at 11.27am and arriving at Dunedin Hospital at 12.05pm.
