SIT fraud inquiry

The Southern Institute of Technology is investigating an alleged case of fraud.

Several readers contacted the Otago Daily Times last week with allegations of fraud at the polytechnic, which is based in Invercargill and also has campuses in Christchurch, Gore and Queenstown.

Chief executive Penny Simmonds confirmed yesterday she "was working through issues", but declined to comment further.

Invercargill police and the Serious Fraud Office said when contacted they were aware of the allegations.
