Police in Invercargill are investigating after three cars were set alight in the Invercargill suburb of Windsor early yesterday.
A police spokesman yesterday confirmed the incident and the investigation.
The three vehicles were found alight at the rear of a building on Sydney St about 4.30am yesterday.
''Fire [and Emergency New Zealand] initially attended the fires, but then called police as the fires appeared suspicious,'' the spokesman said.
No further details were immediately available.
The spokesman said the police's criminal investigation branch was investigating.
