It happened on the Kennington-Waimatua Rd and Endowment Rd intersection.
A Police spokesman said they were notified of the incident at 9.30am.
Senior Constable Colin Johansen, who was at the scene, said a car and a ute crashed which caused the car to roll onto its roof.
One person sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Southland Hospital, he said.
