Confessed comic book superfan Leon Hartnett said the legacy of Stan Lee was so strong it would live on through generations to come.
''He encouraged literacy, which is brilliant. I learned to read from reading his comic books. They have been proven as a useful tool to encourage literacy in reluctant readers. The processing of the brain when you're looking at the visual as well as the text makes your brain work in a slightly different way.
''That is his legacy''
With over 10,000 comics in his collection, Mr Hartnett listed Spider-Man as his favourite Stan Lee creation, due to his ''relatable nature and stories.''
He compared hearing of Lee's death with learning another cultural icon had died.
''As an awkward non-sporty child my big heroes, my idols, were Stan Lee and Freddie Mercury. I remember when Freddie died I went home from school and cried. Decades later the other legend from my childhood died and tears are there.''
He hopes to honour his hero by organising a special superhero park run soon.
