"We love ice skating so we thought it would be fun to spend a day in Invercargill and check the new rink. It is quite fun," Georgia said.
ILT Stadium Southland events and programme co-ordinator Alex Morrison-Bailey said it decided to bring the rink back after the success of the attraction last school holiday.
She said the rink was made of synthetic ice.
"It has the same characteristics of real ice for people skating but it is artificial.
"The kids have a lot of fun because they can fall and they don’t get wet."
