Firefighters cut a chilled, injured driver from a car in Eastern Southland on Tuesday.
A St John spokesman said a car rolled about 70m down a bank on Knowsley Park Rd in Ferndale, east of Mataura.
A woman, aged in her 50s, had serious injuries and was hypothermic. Firefighters were called to cut the woman from the car just after 10pm.
She was taken by ambulance to Gore Hospital.
