Models and designers put their best foot forward at the Hokonui Strictly Design Evening in Gore last night.
More than 600 people attended the evening - held at the Gore Town and Country Club stadium - which was part of the 25th Hokonui Fashion Design Awards.
The awards have been running since 1988 and are now firmly established as a key event on the national fashion calendar.
Awards executive producer Heather Paterson said the awards offered a competitive platform for all amateur designers to display their designs before a panel of high-profile judges.
A record 324 entries were received but these were trimmed back to ensure only the best went on display. About 200 garments made it to the catwalk.
A special category called ''Silver'' was introduced this year to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the awards.
Tonight's gala evening, which features all the competition designs, winners' announcements and presentations, sold out on June 27, the first day tickets were on sale.
Seven hundred people are expected to attend.
