Here comes the sun

Celebrating the good weather yesterday with a stroll in Queens Park, Invercargill, are Jackson Reynolds (2) and his mother Shonelle Purdon.

Invercargill residents have been wondering if summer would come, as since the start of the year the fall in temperatures and strong winds had been creating a winter vibe in the city.

Jackson had a blast feeding the ducks at the park, Ms Purdon said.

‘‘We were a little bit sad with this weather. But at least, on my last day of holiday, the sun comes out and we could enjoy a good day outside.’’
