Two fire crews from Invercargill Fire Station were called after a dryer burst into flames at a residential garage this afternoon.
The incident happened shortly after 3.30pm.
A Fire Emergency New Zealand spokesman said only minor damage was caused to the building.
"It's a good reminder to people to clean out their lint traps," he said.
