Crews were called to a car fire in Invercargill earlier today.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said an appliance from Kingswell and a tanker from Invercargill were sent to the fire in Orr Rd, Waimatua, about 3.55pm.
The fire had spread into some flax bushes he said.
