Two people have been extracted from an SUV with serious injuries following a crash with a bus near Te Anau this morning.
A police spokeswoman said emergency services were called to the scene on SH94 near Hillside-Manapouri Rd at 9.06am.
Bus passengers were unharmed, but two people needed to be extracted from the SUV, she said.
They both received serious injuries.
The serious crash unit had been advised.
NZ Transport Agency issued an update just before 2pm saying SH94 near the scene of the crash was closed to northbound traffic.
Southbound traffic was under stop/go control and motorists were told to expect delays.
