A 41-year-old woman has been found dead at a Balcutha house by police attending a domestic incident the Otago Daily Times believes to have involved a stabbing.
Police are speaking to a 49-year-old man in relation to the death at the Essex St house.
Armed officers arrived at the address shortly before 10am and an ambulance arrived soon after.
The address has been cordoned off and police are examining the scene.
A neighbour told the ODT he believed the occupants of the house had been living there for about three years and were of Samoan descent.
