The pink coffin was emblazoned with pictures of horses and a pink dog toy on top.
The funeral service for Rebecca and her mother, Phillipa Jane Manning (43), drew more than 150 mourners to the hall of Rebecca's Waihola District School.
Mr Coulter told the Otago Daily Times Rebecca had wanted a white horse for her 7th birthday next year, and he wanted to honour that wish at her funeral.
Two horses which Rebecca rode at Berwick, in the weeks before her death, were also in attendance.
Ms Manning and Rebecca, both of Waihola, were killed when the station wagon they were travelling in and a truck-and-trailer unit collided at 9.35pm on State Highway 1, near Milton, on February 8.
