Three teams of four and four teams of two from Mataura, Balclutha and Kaitangata took part in the challenge.
Milton Volunteer Brigade Chief Fire Officer Robbie Phillips said the competition was designed to test the firefighting skills of the brigade.
The only hiccup came when one of the pumps broke down and needed replacing. Kaitangata came out on top, followed by Balclutha and Mataura.
The next event for the teams will be the Otago-Southland competition in Wanaka at Waitangi weekend.
