The house on the truck sustained only minor damage.

A van and a truck carrying a house collided on State Highway 1 between Clinton and Gore yesterday.

Constable Daniel Munro, of Gore, said it was unclear what caused the collision.

He said a northbound van and a southbound truck transporting a house collided between Black Rd and Watt Rd about 3pm.

The truck was accompanied by two pilot vehicles so it was a ``fairly big operation'', Const Munro said.

The driver of the van, a man in his 30s, was taken to Gore Hospital with minor injuries.

Const Munro said the road was closed for about half an hour while police cleared the scene.

The three vehicles in the house transportation operation were asked to continue southward so the road could be cleared. The house was not believed to have been seriously damaged.

Fire, police and ambulance services, all from Gore, attended.

Inquiries were continuing.
