The club's new 5000sq m shed was unveiled in Tapanui with the presentation of an official plaque.
West Otago Vintage Club member Marjorie Morrison said the shed would be used to house vintage farm machinery that had been kept in storage for years.
The vintage club's collection had expanded so much, more space was needed to accommodate all of its equipment.
It cost about $151,000 with the support of the Lottery Grants Board, Southland Community Trust, West Otago Lions and the West Otago A&P Society.
A barbecue was held for the club at the opening. More than 80 people attended.
